Grool: Ideas for Mean Girls Sequels, Spin-Offs, and other fetch things

Teen movies. You can't sit with them. You can't sit without them. Let me guide you in a brief history of teen movies. In the old days, Teen movies were charming, but charming in the decade they belonged to (80's and 90's) Everyone remembers the Molly Ringwald movies, right? They're cute, but cheesy and cliched. Everyone was a stereotype of something.  But when the charm of these movies began to fade, people began seeing them in a bad way. I'm talking about Cruel Intention and She's all that. Two awful movies that were parodied in the even dumber and highly disgusting "Not another teen movie" if there was a list of all the bad things that happened in 2001, 9/11 would be number one, and this movie would be number two. This movie claims to be a "Parody" of all the teen movie cliches, but is actually a 2 hour hot mess. It seemed that all was lost for teen movies, but then, a light shone from above. What was the light? It was a movie. A movie that would change everything. A movie that would revolutionize how teen movies were made, spawning masterpieces, such as Easy A, Juno and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I, of course, am talking about the one, the only, Mean Girls (Hold for Applause)

Mean Girls has become one, if not the most popular Teen Movies ever. It's the definitely the most quoted Movie out there. And it's really the first movie to ever address High School Cliques and bullying without having a good guy and a bad guy. As mean as Regina is, she's not the villain. And as good as Cady is, she's not the hero, because in Girl World, There is no good guys and bad guys. Only real people.

What surprised me the most is for a movie that had a franchise potential (American Pie, Pitch Perfect) it stopped at one movie. What happened? I feel like if there was a Mean Girls 2, it could've saved Lindsay Lohan's career, and she wouldn't be where she is today. Maybe it never happened because By the end of the film, Girl World was at peace. But there will always be Mean Girls at school. You can't get rid of them. So, here are my ideas for a possible Mean Girls franchise

Sequels

If Mean Girls deserves one thing, it would be a Sequel. And BTW, the so called "Mean Girls 2" that aired on ABC family does not count. The Movie is based on the nonfiction book  Queen Bees and Wannabes by Rosalind Wiseman. She also wrote another nonfiction work called Queen Bee moms and Kingpin dads. If they adapt it into a movie, what they could do is have the original plastics (Regina, Karen, Gretchen and Cady) meet up in a high school reunion. they all have teenaged kids of their own, and find out that their kids are in a similar dilemma that they were in when they were in High School. I know that the cast is still too young to have teenaged kids, but you can ad old make up to age them up a bit. And for Lindsay, you don't have to do much. She already looks like she's 40.

And speaking of Reunions, that's what everybody's been buzzing about for a long time. Why not a Mean Girls high school reunion? I can see it. It would be good for Lindsay's career.

Spin offs

Another book Rosalind has written is another nonfiction book called Masterminds and Wingmen, which is basically the boy equivalent of Queen Bees and Wannabes. Mean Girls opened our eyes to Girl World, showing that being a girl is more than lip gloss and skirts. But today, boys are still being looked at as neanderthal like apes. If they decide to show us Boy World with Mean Boys, that would be a treat. It would be nice to see guy characters like Jocks and Preps fleshed out to more relatable characters. It would also be nice to see Jock characters who aren't assholes.

TV show

A Mean Girls TV show is totally possible. Imagine having a TV show about the do's and don'ts of Girl World. It can Be like Ned's Declassified, Better yet, Why not a Mean Girls Sitcom! Have a brand new cast of girls that capture the spirit of the Cady Heron and the rest of the plastics.

Remake

Uh, No! You cannot do that! That's Social Suicide!!!

Merchandise

Mean Girls is a big Pop Culture icon, so it would only be fitting to have merchandise of it. Mean Girls Board Games, Mean Girls App games &Notebooks and book covers that look like the Burn Book, A Mean Girls Clothing Line, and Mean Girls Barbies. Plastics + Plastic= Greatness.
